Lincoln solicitor joins Association of Contentious Trusts and Probate Specialists

This story is over

Lincoln-based lawyer Adrian Lyon has become an associate member of the Association of Contentious Trusts and Probate Specialists (ACTAPS).

Adrian works in the dispute resolution unit at Langleys Solicitors at Olympic House advising clients involved in personal and commercial disputes.

He has completed a two year course to become an associate member of ACTAPS which provides a forum for lawyers who specialise in disputes regarding wills, trusts and probate.

As an associate member of ACTAPS, Adrian will share his experience and knowledge with other dispute resolution specialists.

The association also has a code of conduct by which lawyers must ensure that disputes are resolved promptly and cost-effectively wherever possible.

Adrian has worked on several disputes and claims made under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975.

He said: “The number of disputed wills has increased significantly. The reasons for this include the rise in second marriages meaning there are more people who expect to be provided for under wills.

“The increase in property values also means there are more valuable estates for people to contest.”
