A new Aldi supermarket is set to open in Skegness this Autumn, creating 40 new jobs for the area.

Work has already begun on its construction at the former Skegness Town Football Club, which is expected to also become home to Pets at Home, an M&S Foodhall and a new Marston’s Pub.

The development is expected to create around 200 jobs in total.

The German discount supermarket already has several stores around the county including Sleaford, Boston, Lincoln, Louth and Gainsborough.

A spokesman for Aldi said: “Construction work is now underway for our new Skegness store, which is scheduled to open in Autumn this year.

“The store will create around 40 jobs and we will keep the local community updated on developments.”
