Nominations are now open for the Institute of Directors (IoD) 2017 East Midlands Director of the Year Awards.
The IoD East Midlands has started its search for the top directors in Lincolnshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and Nottinghamshire as part of the annual nationwide competition.
The awards celebrate the achievements of the region’s most hardworking and innovative business leaders and are open to both IoD members and non-members of director level or equivalent status.
In 2016 Darren Crookes, Managing Director of Acorn Partitions and Storage Systems Ltd of Lincoln, was awarded the IoD’s overall East Midlands Director of the Year.
This year’s awards will include 10 categories:
- Large Director of the Year
- Mid-market Director of the Year
- SME Director of the Year
- Young Director of the Year
- Family Business Director of the Year
- Public/Third Sector of the Year
- Non Executive Director of the Year
- International Director of the Year
- Corporate Governane Award
- Director of the Year East Midlands
Entries for nominations close on March 31 when a panel of judges will draw up a shortlist for the regional competition and the winners will be revealed at the East Midlands Director of the Year Awards 2017 presentation lunch at Nottingham Conference Centre, Nottingham Trent University on Friday 23 June.
Winners of the East Midlands Director of the Year will then automatically be entered into the national awards which take place in London in autumn.

“Each year we receive entries from some truly inspiring people from across the region.”
