Lincolnshire entrepreneur Jenny Smith, owner of Jenny’s Jams of Lincoln, will head to Birmingham to exhibit her new chutney at a national trade show.
The previous Lincolnshire Business cover star hopes to tempt crowds at the Farm Shop and Deli Show at Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre, with the event running from April 24 to April 26.
An expected 3,500 visitors will attend the event, where Jenny will show off her brand new Dambusters Chutney in the hopes to make some new business deals.
Jenny’s Dambusters Chutney was created after she met a fellow trader from the Lincolnshire Tom Woods’ Brewery whilst selling at Brigg market, and was invited to make a chutney using the company’s Bomber County Ale.
Using a mix of vegetables and dried apricots, Jenny came up with the formula for her new jam.
She tested her new batch on other traders at Brigg market, all of whom gave it the thumbs up, leading Jenny to sell lots of jars of her chutney over Christmas.
Jenny has previously shown her other produce at the BBC Food & Drink Show.
Jenny, who handmakes all her products, said: “I thought carefully about the chutney and realised that so many recipes feature raisins and sultanas, so I set about creating something really different.
“I currently make seven jams, eight marmalades, seven chutneys and two sauces and I have been very busy recently, having completely sold out of my jams in December when I celebrated my best-ever Christmas.”
