The White Hart in Carlton Le Moorland will soon go on the market as the owner has decided to call time on her career in order to travel the world.
Heather Richmond, who has been the landlady of the pub for the last 21 years, is currently working with an agent to put the business on the market following nine years of running the business by herself.
The doors will close for the final time on April 2, at which point the five current staff will be made redundant.
Heather hopes that any new owners of the business will keep the site as a pub following the significant investment that she has put in over the years and continue to provide quality food.
She said: “I want to retire and I have been here for 21 years. It’s times for last orders.
“I’ve loved it, but as with anything you need a change and that’s what I want to do. I want to travel and see family and friends.
“I have run it on my own for the last nine years and that’s a long time to run it on your own.
“It’s been lots of fun and we’ve had some brilliant days and nights. We’ve had lots of loyal customers and I will miss all of them.
“At the end of the day day you have to make that decision before you drop. I have enjoyed it. It was my dream and I did it.
“21 years ago you didn’t very often get a landlady. It was mainly a man’s world but now there are lots of people like me.”
Heather urges anyone interested in purchasing the White Hart to get in touch on 01522 788863.
