Lincoln-based oil business The Witham Group will be providing services fit for the royals for another five years after its Royal Warrant was renewed.
Witham was originally granted the warrant by HM the Queen in 1991. After over 25 years, it’s one of only five companies in Lincolnshire to hold the recognition today.
Trading since 1921, Witham Oil and Paint Ltd is a privately owned family run business with its Head Office and lubricant manufacturing based in Lincoln.
The company started supplying engine oil to the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk in 1984 which then led on to supplying paint for the Royal Gates and for many of the houses, fences, railings and a variety of agricultural and environmental lubricants used on the farm.
Royal Warrants are a mark of recognition to companies who have regularly supplied goods or services for at least five years to HM The Queen; HRH The Duke of Edinburgh; HRH The Prince of Wales, or their respective Households.
There are only just over 800 firms holding Royal Warrants of Appointment across the world, including the likes of Bentley, Landover and Cartier.
Nigel Bottom, Witham Group MD said: “We are delighted to be notified by Buckingham Palace that our Royal Warrant had been renewed again and continue to supply our oil and paint to HM the Queen.
“The assessment criteria is rigorous, each application must demonstrate not only the company’s credentials of excellence in their trade but also show that they conduct their business with a committed to environmental sustainability and social responsibility. We’re extremely proud to have been recognised with such a prestigious honour.”
