Lincoln entrepreneur gets official MOD licence for military themed leather gift range

A Lincoln entrepreneur has acquired an official MOD licence to use military insignia including the Red Arrows logo on a new range of luxury leather gifts for men and women.

ASALI, which translates to genuine in Hindi, will celebrate iconic brands through luxury leather gifts on an online store and at The Book Fayre.

Mindy Arora, founder of the site, saw a gap in the market for high end, officially licenced MOD products as well as male orientated gifts.

The products are all officially licensed by the MOD

Mindy succeeded in acquiring the licence and now sells official products across three ranges, Red Arrows, Typhoon and Battle of Britain.

The products include cardholders, wash bags, valet trays, pencil cases and weekend bags.

All are made using genuine leather and via a combination of handmade and machine based techniques and all items come packaged with their own dust bag.

Products include wash bags, pencil cases and valet trays

The sale of each item will support one of four chosen charities:

  • Red Arrows sales support -Jon Egging Trust
  • Typhoon sales support RAFA (RAF Association) and Combat Stress
  • BBMF sales support their own charity
  • ASALI own products will donate to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)

Mindy said: “The idea for ASALI came about literally in the middle of the night, the process of acquiring the licence, sourcing and designing the leather range was far more lengthy!

“I am keen to make a commercial success of this but establishing a charity connection early on is very much part of our model.”
