Sixty local businesses have made a commitment to raise the profile of Gainsborough to bring more investment into the area.
Invest Gainsborough was set up last year and companies such as Pygott & Crone, Firecracker and AMP Rose have signed up to the initiative.
Each business has been given a wealth of information about Gainsborough and the latest plans to regenerate the town.
Pygott & Crone’s group director, Tim Downing, said: “I’m proud to be an economic ambassador for Gainsborough, it’s a town that is really starting to attract peoples’ attention.
“I’ve been banging the drum for this town for many years and I’m pleased that more investors from the south are taking advantage of the affordable land and fantastic residential and commercial development opportunities on offer.”
In 2016, West Lindsey District Council announced that they will be investing £18million into housing-led economic growth and heritage-led regeneration.
Wendy Osgodby, place board manager for Invest Gainsborough, said: “Now with our growing team of economic ambassadors I’m confident that Gainsborough’s message will be strengthened and heard by even more people.
“We rely heavily on the support of our private sector partners, like Pygott & Crone and the others on the Place Board, to heighten developer confidence.
“We’ve been thrilled with the feedback from developers since launching Invest Gainsborough; international hotel chain Travelodge has confirmed it will open a new hotel on the former Sun Inn site and a joint venture company has been established between Dransfield and West Lindsey District Council to help refurbish and let empty units on Market Street. It’s an exciting time for the town.”
