Orderwise opens staff café as part of £1.3m investment

Orderwise has opened its own café within its £1.3 million, 14,000 sq ft office extension to help keep its 170+ hard-working staff happy.

The Hive Café is for staff use only and has a self-service buffet as well as a staffed hot food service, run by a staff of four.

The payment system uses the Saxilby firm’s own EPOS technology, meaning staff use an entirely cashless system.

Workers can order from their desks, head down when it is ready and use their top-up ID cards to pay for their meals.

Staff also have use of a Play Station 4 console to relax, which has been added at the same time as table tennis tables in several departments.

Director at OrderWise David Hallam said: “With our huge growth in staff over the past 18 months we thought it was about time everyone had the chance to enjoy a subsidised meal here on site.

“Our new café offers staff the choice of buying fresh food here or eating their own in what we think are lovely surroundings.

“We have also had a gym here for a long time, which staff are free to use before and after work.”
