Business leaders attend official opening of £8m Hampton By Hilton at Humberside Airport

Over 50 business leaders from across North Lincolnshire and Humberside gathered at the Hampton by Hilton Humberside Airport to celebrate its official opening.

Taking 18 months to complete, at the cost of £8 million, the 100-cbed hotel welcomed its first guests last month and officially opened on Thursday, August 10.

Sam Teale, General Manager and John Wildey, a hero with an inspirational story of landing a passanger aircraft at Humberside Airport when the pilot fell ill at the controlls cut the ribbon and declared the hotel officially open.

The hotel, which will be managed by Leaf Hospitality and has created 50 new jobs, is also open to non-residents and offers two meeting spaces, which can be used by community groups as well as businesses.

Hampton by Hilton Humberside Airport will participate in Hilton HHonors®, the only hotel loyalty programme that allows members to earn Points & Miles® on the same stay and No Blackout Dates on reward stays.

Sam Teale said: “The hotel is already proving extremely popular with companies operating in renewable and offshore industries, who need excellent accommodation close to the airport.

“We also expect to see a lot of holidaymakers staying with us as the growing popularity of Humberside Airport continues.”
