Lincoln businessman moves into his own eco-home development

A Lincolnshire businessman who developed a number of eco-homes at the Lincolnshire Showground has moved into one of the properties with his family.

Steff Wright of Gusto Homes developed the 18 Woodlands Edge Terraces in North Carlton and is so confident of his project that he’s moved into one of them.

The Managing Director, said: “With our four children either travelling the world or at university it was the right time for us to move house.

“Whilst Gusto Homes has a number of really attractive new developments across the region, the combination of living within a short distance of uphill Lincoln and the contemporary lifestyle created by our Woodlands Edge homes made the choice a simple one.”

In the eco-homes, electricity costs just £1 a day and rainwater is collected to flush toilets.

They are currently priced between £325,000 and £369,000 with estate agent Hodgson Elkington.

“There is a massive need for new homes in Lincolnshire and throughout the country,” Steph added.

“Whilst not every site has the stunning setting which Woodland’s Edge has, I believe it is important that developers push the boundaries on design and innovation, with the aim of creating real communities rather than just repeating the type of bland developments built by many of the very large PLC developers.”

A phase two of the scheme is hoping to be put in place with 11 new two to four-bedroom homes and some of the houses have been reserved before the builders have started.

“There has already been good interest in Phase 2 of this development and I am looking forward to seeing the first homeowners move in in 2018.

“This will take the overall development to 29 properties with a mix of two, three and four bedroom homes.”
