Lincolnshire brewery goes into administration

This story is over

Lincolnshire brewery Tom Wood Beers Ltd has gone into administration.

The Best Bitter, Lincoln Gold and Bomber County brewer went into administration on June 2 and the process was finalised on June 21.

It operated from its base in Melton Ross near Barnetby until recently and has three directors: Tom Wood, John Wood, and Mark Smith.

According to Companies House, the firm’s accounts were overdue for filing and the company was operating under a Company Voluntary Arrangement since December 2014 after going into debts of over £76,000.

Within this arrangement the company was ordered to make four monthly payments of £2,000, followed by another 35 payments of £4,000 to creditors.

The brewery was making around 170,000 pints per week before it called in CRG Insolvency & Financial Recovery of Grimsby to look after the day-to-day running of the firm.
