Lincoln manufacturer Aequum has hand delivered its largest order to date after creating a luxury massage table for one of the biggest superyachts ever built.
Priced at £39,000 (including bags), the ‘Aureus’ couch, which was handmade at the firm’s Nettleham workshop, was hand delivered by Managing Director and founder Edward Crowther.
The couch, which took 400 man-hours to create, will now take pride of place on the luxury superyacht, owned by a private Russian client, which is currently at the Alblasserdam shipyard in the Netherlands.
The new superyacht is regarded as one of the luxury superyacht world’s defining projects with accommodation for up to 12 guests in six staterooms with features including a beach club, jacuzzi on deck, swimming platform, tender garage, underwater lights and this luxury massage couch.
Edward said: “It was such a thrill to see our Aureus massage table in pride of place on the custom superyacht.
“I travelled to the Alblasserdam shipyard in the Netherlands to personally install the Aureus and I was delighted with the client’s reaction after my team had spent so many hours building the massage couch by hand in our small workshop.
“Aequum’s brief was to create a bespoke design to complement the superyacht design.
“Individual features for the massage table include American black walnut, black Caledonian leather, polished stainless steel, sculptured hand rest, side arms, head pillow, bolster cushion and face plug.”
