Cineworld secured as anchor tenant for new £20m Grimsby development

Cineworld has been confirmed as the cinema anchor tenant for a new £20 million leisure development in Grimsby.

The project recently received planning permission for the new complex offering a nine-screen cinema and seven restaurants.

This will be an extension to Freshney Place Shopping Centre in the town’s Riverhead area, which will be regenerated by the council.

The development will also help create around 350 construction jobs and a further 130 long-term roles.

It is hoped work on the site will commence within the next six months, with a projected completion date within 20 months post start-date.

Development Director, Maurice Fitzgerald on behalf of the centre owners, said: “This is an exciting time for Freshney Place.
